Shiftary (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a shift-planning app that helps you track your work shifts, pay, and leave, and optionally back them up and sync them across your devices. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short and plain.
Information we collect
- Account details (optional). An account is not required — the app works fully on your device without one. If you choose to sign in for cloud backup and sync, we receive your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Your shift data. The information you enter in the app — shifts and patterns, pay rates, leave and time-in-lieu, reminders, notes, and the optional work profile you choose to add (such as your name, role, employer, employee ID, email, or phone number for exported timesheets).
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
How we use your information
- To provide the app and its features.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To back up your data and sync it across your devices (only when you are signed in).
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on your device. Only if you sign in is it also stored in our cloud database provided by Supabase. Access is protected so that each account can only read and write its own data. Authentication is handled by Supabase and, for Google sign-in, by Google.
Purchases
Shiftary offers a 14-day free trial, then optional paid plans (a one-time purchase, or a yearly subscription that adds cloud backup and sync). Payments are processed by Google Play; we never see or store your card or payment details. The app checks with Google Play which plan you own, and remembers it on your device.
Device permissions
- Calendar (optional) — only if you choose to copy your shifts into a calendar on your phone. You pick the calendar; we only add/update the events the app created.
- Notifications & alarms — to deliver the shift reminders you set.
- Biometric / screen lock — only if you enable the in-app lock; it stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work: Supabase (cloud hosting and authentication) and Google (sign-in, if you use it, and Google Play for purchases). They process data on our behalf to provide these services.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can sign out at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and its cloud data by emailing us at the address below; we will delete it within 30 days. Data stored only on your device stays there when you sign out, and is removed when you uninstall the app or delete your account in the app. If you never sign in, nothing is sent to us.
Children
Shiftary is intended for working adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS), and access to your cloud data is restricted to your own account. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
